Brazilian low-cost carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas commenced nonstop flights between Rio de Janeiro and New York-JFK on July 8, 2026. This route is GOL’s first long-haul international connection.
Flight Schedule and Operations
The service operates three times per week using Airbus A330 aircraft. Departures from Rio de Janeiro occur on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while return flights from New York-JFK take place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
GOL’s U.S. Network and South American Focus
In addition to New York, GOL serves Miami and Orlando airports in Florida. Despite these expansions, GOL’s main network remains focused on South America.
GOL announced the Rio-JFK route in March 2026, marking a strategic expansion into
long-haul international services. The airline plans to add more long-haul routes, including transatlantic flights, as it receives additional Airbus A330 aircraft.
