France’s new TGV-M high-speed train has obtained market authorization from the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA). This certification affirms that the train complies with the EU’s required safety and operational standards, allowing it to commence commercial passenger operations.
Passenger services using the TGV-M are scheduled to begin in September 2026. This approval marks a key regulatory milestone enabling the introduction of the advanced train model into France’s high-speed rail network.
