Illinois, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts were among the states most affected. The interruptions involved major carriers including United Airlines, SkyWest, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines, which all faced considerable operational challenges due to the volume of delayed and cancelled flights.
