Fiji Airways will begin direct flights between Nadi in Fiji and Western Sydney International Airport in Australia on March 19, 2027. The service is set to establish new air connections for travellers between the two destinations.
Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details
The airline plans to operate three flights weekly on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. This expansion adds over 53,000 seats annually on the Nadi-Western Sydney route. Fiji Airways currently maintains twice-daily flights between Nadi and Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney.
Fare Promotion and Booking Period
Fiji Airways offers introductory return fares starting at $899 for travel from Fiji to Western Sydney. The promotional fare sale
runs from September 9 to September 23, 2026, applicable for travel between March 19 and August 5, 2027, on selected dates and subject to availability.
Growth and Community Context in Western Sydney
Western Sydney is among New South Wales’ fastest-growing regions and hosts one of the largest Fijian communities outside Fiji. The launch of the new direct flight will provide improved travel access for this community and support regional tourism.

Fiji recorded over one million visitor arrivals in a 12-month period for the first time, with July 2026 marking the highest monthly arrivals on record. Following the launch, Fiji Airways will operate up to three daily flights between Fiji and the broader Greater Sydney area. The schedule also enhances connectivity from Nadi to destinations in Fiji as well as Tonga and Samoa through Fiji Airways’ network.
The outbound flight FJ991 departs Nadi at 7:10 pm, arriving at Western Sydney International
Airport at 10:55 pm. The return flight FJ990 leaves Western Sydney at 11:55 pm, arriving in Nadi at 4:55 am the following day.
