The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) issued a ground stop at Denver International Airport on September 8, 2026, halting departing flights because of thunderstorms and strong winds in the area.
The ground stop is set to remain in effect until 4:45 p.m. on the same day. The weather disruption is caused by monsoon storms bringing gusty outflow winds and rain showers moving through the northeastern part of the Denver metro area and Colorado’s Front Range.
