Dubai International Airport officially launched the ‘Click and Travel’ mobile immigration service on September 7, 2026. The system allows passport officers to complete entry or departure procedures in approximately 12 to 15 seconds using handheld devices, cutting processing time significantly.
Technology and Mobility in Passenger Processing
The ‘Click and Travel’ platform integrates biometric fingerprint scanning, facial recognition, electronic passport reading, automated pre-screening, and direct access to passenger records through a secure communication network. Officers equipped with mobile devices can process passengers anywhere within the arrival and departure halls, removing the need for fixed immigration counters.
The pilot phase began in October 2025 at Terminal 3 of
Dubai International Airport and expanded to cover all passenger categories across the airport terminals in May 2026. Over 31,000 passengers were processed by the system between the pilot’s start and the end of August 2026.
User Access and Official Announcements
The service is available to UAE citizens, residents, Gulf Cooperation Council nationals, and visitors, ensuring broad accessibility. The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai developed and manages the system. The official launch was announced at a press conference led by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri and Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqiti.
