Delta Air Lines will begin nonstop flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Manila, Philippines, on March 28, 2027. The new service will be operated three times per week initially using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, increasing to daily flights from June 7, 2027. This marks Delta’s return to the Philippine market after a six-year hiatus, having ceased its previous Manila service via Tokyo Narita Airport in March 2020.
The Los Angeles to Manila route spans approximately 6,348 nautical miles, with flight times estimated at 14 to 15 hours. Delta will be the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop service on this
transpacific route, directly competing with Philippine Airlines, which currently maintains multiple daily flights. Passengers on the A350-900 will have access to Delta’s full range of cabin options: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and the Main Cabin. Delta One travelers departing from LAX will have access to two dedicated Delta One Lounges, including a recently opened facility in Terminal 2 featuring enhanced services.
Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning, Jeff Arinder, highlighted the airline’s investments at LAX, stating, “Customers traveling through Los Angeles continue to benefit from Delta’s investments in LAX, including an expanding Asia-Pacific network and the opening
of our second Delta One Lounge.” This nonstop service supports Delta’s broader strategy to solidify Los Angeles as a key West Coast hub. It also complements other recent Delta routes launched from LAX to cities such as Hong Kong, Melbourne, Shanghai, Vancouver, and Newark.
The new route also strengthens Delta’s partnership with Korean Air, enabling expanded connectivity across the Pacific. The joint venture with Korean Air connects passengers to over 260 destinations in the Americas and more than 60 destinations in Asia, offering additional travel options through the Pacific network.
