Passengers affected by the canceled JFK nonstop flights will be contacted directly by Delta to discuss alternative travel arrangements. Customers can rebook flights departing from nearby LaGuardia Airport (LGA), where Delta continues nonstop service to Houston, Memphis, and St. Louis, or opt for a
full refund if preferred. Travelers are advised to check their itineraries via the Fly Delta app or online accounts for updated information and rebooking options.
New Nonstop Route Between Raleigh-Durham and Southwest Florida
On November 21, 2026, Delta will launch a new nonstop flight between Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) near Fort Myers. This route will be operated using Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets, adding a fresh destination to Delta’s network from one of its rapidly expanding East Coast cities just ahead of the busy Thanksgiving travel period.
Launch of Basic Fares for Premium Seats
Delta introduced Basic fares for first class and business class cabins, providing economy
seats equipped with premium perks at prices lower than standard first-class tickets. These fares, which can save passengers up to $200 compared to regular first-class tickets, include benefits such as Zone 1 boarding and access to 180-degree lie-flat seats on select aircraft. Joe Esposito, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “This expansion gives customers more ways to choose the Delta experience that best fits their trip, and a new way to access our premium tier products.”
