Multiple major U.S. airlines, including Delta, American, United, and JetBlue, have canceled hundreds of flights following the discovery of a sinkhole at LaGuardia Airport. This infrastructure issue has forced flight disruptions as carriers adjust operations amid airport runway challenges.

International travelers from countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, and China have been among those affected by the cancellations and delays. The resulting pressure on New York area airports has extended to John F. Kennedy and Newark airports, where congestion and backup delays were reported as operations attempt to accommodate rerouted flights.
