On July 5, 2026, Chicago’s airports encountered significant operational disruptions, recording a total of 861 flight delays alongside 184 cancellations across multiple carriers. These disruptions affected a large volume of flights departing from and arriving at the region’s airports.
Several airlines, including Delta Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, and Republic Airlines, were among those impacted by the disruptions. The delays and cancellations disrupted not only domestic routes within the United States but also international services connecting to destinations such as Germany, France, Italy, and Japan.
