Carnival Cruise Line held a steel-cutting ceremony on July 10, 2026, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, commencing construction of the Carnival Destiny. This vessel is the first of Carnival’s new Ace Class fleet, symbolizing the cruise line’s next-generation ship development.

Design Features Include Record Ocean-Facing Balconies and Glass Coverage

The Carnival Destiny will have an unprecedented number of ocean-view balcony cabins, aiming to maximize passenger ocean visibility. The ship incorporates more than 4.5 acres of glass, featuring expansive, multi-story glass walls and a redesigned lanai deck to create continuous ocean views.

Construction Timeline and Sister Ships Planned

The ship is scheduled to debut in summer 2029. In addition to Carnival Destiny, two further

Ace Class sister ships are planned for delivery in 2031 and 2033, expanding the fleet’s presence over a seven-year span.

Innovative Passenger Venues, Dining, and Entertainment

More than 70% of Carnival Destiny’s onboard venues and attractions will introduce new concepts to Carnival’s fleet. These include next-generation dining options, bars, and entertainment, reshaping guest experiences onboard.

Destinations in the Paradise Collection and Official Statement

Carnival Destiny will operate itineraries within Carnival’s Paradise Collection, the cruise line’s exclusive portfolio of destinations across the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico. Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said, “Carnival Destiny builds on a legacy that changed cruising once before, reimagining what guests can experience at sea.” She added the ship

is designed to “feel more expansive, while helping guests feel more connected and ultimately have more fun.”
