
The California High-Speed Rail Authority has approved a contract valued at $3.5 billion with a consortium led by Kiewit to carry out critical infrastructure work on the state’s high-speed rail system.
Scope of the Contract
This contract encompasses the installation of electrified track and related railway systems specifically on the Central Valley segment of the project. The work represents an important construction phase step focused on establishing the foundational railway infrastructure essential for future high-speed rail operations in California.
The awarded consortium will be responsible for assembling the track and electrical systems that will enable high-speed rail service in the area, continuing progress on
the central portion of the state’s rail corridor.
