BWH Hotels GB announced the addition of three independent hotels located in New Forest, London, and Newark-on-Trent on July 16, 2026, contributing approximately 100 bedrooms to its UK portfolio. This follows nearly 300 new bedrooms added through six independent hotel signings over the past twelve months, marking a continued strategic expansion across key regions.

New Properties Added in New Forest, London, and Newark

The newly affiliated hotels include Forest Lodge Hotel, part of the BW Signature Collection by Best Western, situated in Lyndhurst near New Forest National Park. Best Western Chiswick Rooms in West London and Sure Hotel Newark in Newark-on-Trent also joined the network. Sure Hotel Newark features

30 bedrooms and is located near Newark Castle and the local market square. These additions reinforce BWH Hotels GB’s presence within leisure and business travel segments in their respective regions.

Investment in Best Western Chiswick Rooms

Best Western Chiswick Rooms have undergone a refurbishment programme valued at approximately £500,000, modernising guest facilities. The hotel’s location offers convenient transport links, approximately 25 minutes from Central London and 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport, targeting corporate travellers and international visitors requiring easy access to both city centres and airports.

Target Markets and Visitor Accessibility

The Forest Lodge Hotel caters to nature and outdoor tourism around New Forest National Park, attracting domestic and international visitors

seeking sustainable and countryside experiences. Sure Hotel Newark serves travellers exploring Nottinghamshire’s heritage attractions and business sectors, supported by good transport connections. The portfolio fulfills accommodation needs for leisure, business, and corporate guests across diverse UK destinations.

Flexible Affiliation Model Benefits

BWH Hotels GB offers independent hotels flexible affiliation agreements that enable them to maintain operational independence while gaining access to global distribution channels, revenue management support, marketing expertise, and the Best Western Rewards loyalty programme. This approach allows hotels to preserve their unique identities while leveraging the commercial benefits provided by a larger network.

Loyalty and Commercial Performance

Affiliated hotels can tap into Best Western Rewards, which

has more than 60 million members worldwide, enhancing guest acquisition and repeat business. The Royal Maritime Hotel, a recent addition to the portfolio, generated nearly £50,000 in new business within its first month post-affiliation. These outcomes highlight the commercial advantages independent hotels gain through strategic partnerships amid rising operational costs and increased online competition.

UK Hospitality Sector Context

The expansion coincides with evolving travel patterns in Great Britain, influenced by domestic tourism growth, international arrivals, and changes in corporate travel. Independent hoteliers increasingly prefer flexible partnership models over rigid franchises, balancing local character with global market visibility and enhanced booking capabilities. This trend supports

sustainable growth despite economic and labor challenges facing the sector.

Ongoing Growth and Traveler Benefits

BWH Hotels GB has multiple hotel agreements nearing completion for 2026, indicating continued portfolio growth. The expansion offers travellers a wider selection of independently operated hotels backed by international standards and loyalty rewards. Properties like Forest Lodge and Best Western Chiswick Rooms provide convenient access to prominent natural, business, and cultural destinations, enhancing accommodation choices across the UK.
