Blackstone is preparing an initial public offering (IPO) for Hotel Investment Partners (HIP) on the Spanish stock exchange, with a valuation estimated at a minimum of $6.9 billion (between €6 billion and €7 billion). The private equity firm has considered selling HIP for nearly two years prior to deciding on the IPO.
Hotel Investment Partners Portfolio and Partnerships
HIP is based in Barcelona and manages a portfolio of 61 hotels and resorts located throughout the Mediterranean. The company has partnered with Italian brand Mangia’s (Aeroviaggi) to upgrade traditional Mediterranean resorts into luxury properties.
IPO Timeline and Regulatory Filing
The IPO listing on the Madrid stock exchange is targeted for late October
or early November 2026. A formal filing with Spain’s securities regulator is expected in early October 2026, according to reports from the financial daily Cinco Días.
Neither Blackstone nor Hotel Investment Partners have issued statements or responded to inquiries regarding the IPO plans.
Skift research highlights that hotel investments increasingly focus on repositioning established Mediterranean resorts as upscale destinations, a strategy reflected in HIP’s partnership with Mangia’s.
