Kempegowda International Airport started biometric trials for international departures on 30 October 2026, using the Digi Yatra app. Select IndiGo and Air India flights are included in the trial for contactless facial recognition verification.

From November to December 2026, seven Indian airports will conduct international Digi Yatra biometric trials on selected Air India and IndiGo flights. Eligible Indian nationals with e-passports can use the Digi Yatra app to verify identity at check-in, security, and boarding touchpoints.

An emergency incident has stopped train services between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton until at least 3:30pm on November 1, 2026. Rail lines remain blocked as emergency services respond, causing major commuter disruptions.
