CrossCountry will introduce eight additional Voyager trains from early 2027 to ease crowding and improve reliability on the Exeter rail route. These trains will add 60,000 seats weekly and form part of a wider fleet expansion including 12 new trains added between 2024 and 2025.

Network Rail will close the Hastings line between Tonbridge and Wadhurst from 24 October to 1 November 2026 for essential engineering works. Rail replacement buses will operate throughout the closure, with multi-site maintenance and infrastructure upgrades planned.
