The 1908-built Nara Prison in Japan reopened as a luxury hotel in June 2026, preserving its original Meiji era architecture. Guests stay in former prison cells in the 25-acre complex managed by Hoshino Resorts.

Jinmao Group resumed independent management of its hotel business in August 2026, ending its partnership with Hyatt at the Shanghai Chongming property. The hotel was rebranded as Shanghai Chongming Jinmao Yiyin and is now operated wholly by Jinmao under its self-owned brand system.
