Thai Aviation Industries, Edgewater Solutions, and Amadeus signed an MoU to modernize Thailand's airports, integrating biometric systems and automated baggage handling. Deployment is planned for mid-2026 to support rising passenger volumes and tourism recovery.

FAAN announced the V-Pass biometric verification system using facial recognition to improve domestic air travel in Nigeria. Launching in July 2026, the system will verify passengers twice and reduce reliance on physical IDs.

SITA and Qatar Airways have launched a biometric system linking over 700 passenger touchpoints at Hamad International Airport. Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports also continue expanding facial recognition technology across traveler processing points.
