The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026 officially commenced on Monday, September 14, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The four-day event, themed “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology,” attracts global tourism and industry stakeholders to focus on artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, and the future of personalized travel.
Exhibitors and Technology Focus at ATM 2026
ATM 2026 features the inaugural ATM Travel Tech segment, showcasing more than 180 companies from 30 countries. These exhibitors present innovations across AI, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), robotics, financial technology (fintech), and green technology applications in tourism. Overall, the event hosts over 2,800 exhibitors covering tourism destinations, airlines, hotels,
and travel technology sectors.
Consumer Tech Savviness and AI’s Role in Travel Planning
Siddharth Sudhakar, general manager for MENA at Trip.com, highlighted the Gulf region’s digitally advanced consumer base with diverse age groups and interests. He remarked, “The data shows that consumers in the Gulf region are highly tech-savvy and digitally advanced, with diverse age groups and interests.” Sudhakar added that AI is evolving beyond just travel inspiration into facilitating comprehensive trip planning and booking processes, saying, “We are seeing AI move beyond providing travel inspiration and information into actual trip planning and booking, including activities, flights, hotels and airport transfers.”
China-Middle East Cooperation in AI and Tourism Technology
The event also underlined ongoing cooperation between China
and the Middle East in AI and tourism technology. According to Sudhakar, this partnership aims to merge the Middle East’s distinctive culture and travel experiences with Chinese technological and AI capabilities, expanding opportunities in the tourism sector.
Trade Show Scope and Attendance
The Arabian Travel Market annually encompasses major industry sectors such as tourism destinations, airlines, hotels, and travel technology. According to the organizers, ATM 2026 attracted over 2,800 exhibitors and more than 55,000 tourism professionals. The event’s broad participation reiterates Dubai’s role as a global hub for travel industry innovation and technology advancement.
