A new cruise ship operating in Alaskan waters has added a marine mammal observer to its onboard team. This role is dedicated to monitoring the surrounding environment during sailing to help reduce the risk of collisions with whales.
By having a marine mammal observer on board, the vessel aims to adjust its operations in real time based on sightings of marine wildlife. This approach is intended to protect whales by preventing strikes through modified navigation practices during the Alaska cruise season.
