Alaska Airlines will launch nonstop flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Athens International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport starting spring 2027. These will be Alaska’s first nonstop flights from Seattle to Athens and Paris.
Flight schedules and aircraft
The seasonal Seattle to Athens route will operate three times weekly from May 12 through October 2027, with return flights starting May 13. The Seattle to Paris service begins May 25, 2027, with five weekly flights through the fall and return flights starting May 26. All flights will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft featuring lie-flat business class suites and premium amenities from Filson and
Salt & Stone.
First nonstop connections and network expansion
The Seattle-Athens route, operated as flight AS196 honoring the 1896 Olympic Games birthplace, will be Alaska’s longest-ever flight. The Paris service is flight AS136, referencing Paris’s 136 museums. These new routes expand Alaska’s international network from Seattle, which already includes nonstop service to Iceland, London, Rome, Seoul, and Tokyo. Alaska Airlines, a oneworld alliance member, is the first to offer nonstop West Coast service to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The airline plans to operate more than 12 long-haul international routes from Seattle by 2030, adding at least five more intercontinental destinations with additional Dreamliner aircraft.

Marketing partnership and connectivity
Alaska Airlines has partnered with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold for a multi-season marketing campaign celebrating the airline’s global expansion. Alaska currently operates more than 360 peak-day departures and nonstop service to 110 destinations from Seattle. The new routes enable same-day connections between Honolulu and Paris via Seattle, enhancing international access through Alaska’s secondary hub in Hawaii.
