The airline initially halted flights to these destinations following the escalation of conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran that started in March 2026. Due to ongoing uncertainty in Israeli airspace and the wider Middle East region, Air Canada has delayed reopening these routes multiple times, most recently pushing back the restart by several weeks. This
delay leaves Air Canada without a service presence in the United Arab Emirates during the peak winter travel period.
To accommodate travelers affected by the suspension, Air Canada implemented a flexible booking policy in late March 2026. Eligible customers can modify travel dates without change fees, switch destinations, or cancel for future travel credit depending on their ticket terms.
