Stansted Airport will introduce nine new flight routes in 2026, expanding its network to destinations across Europe and Turkey.
New and Expanded Services from Multiple Airlines
Turkish Airlines began a new route from Stansted to Istanbul in March 2026, operating up to 15 flights per week. This marks Stansted as Turkish Airlines’ sixth UK base. The airline operates 170 weekly flights from the UK and Ireland at peak summer.
easyJet started flights from Stansted to Paris Charles de Gaulle, while Ryanair launched a new route to Malmö, Sweden.
Jet2.com added three destinations from Stansted: Jerez in southern Spain, the Greek island of Samos, and La Palma in
the Canary Islands. Jet2.com had previously announced other route expansions from Stansted as well.
TUI introduced flights from Stansted to Kos in Greece. BA CityFlyer launched services to Olbia in Sardinia, and AJet began flights to Bodrum, Turkey. Additionally, Cyprus Airways plans to resume UK operations with new flights from Stansted to Larnaca, Cyprus.
Impacts on Travelers and Strategic Growth
The nine new routes add to Stansted’s offerings, providing passengers with greater options for both leisure and business travel. Increased destinations improve connectivity and convenience at the airport.
Ciaran Brannigan, commercial director at London Stansted Airport, said, “We’re delighted to welcome new airlines and routes during
2026 that give our passengers even greater choice, value and convenience.” He emphasized Stansted’s growth as a gateway for travel across Europe and beyond.
Stansted’s Position Among UK Airports
Stansted Airport now serves more than 200 destinations, making it one of the busiest international airports in the UK. The expansion reflects continuing airline schedule growth and Stansted’s role in connecting passengers to a wider range of European and Turkish destinations.
