Sri Lanka promoted its business events, leisure travel, and wellness tourism sectors at ITB Asia 2026, held from October 21 to 23 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
At the MICE Show Asia segment of ITB Asia 2026, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau coordinated a pavilion dedicated to promoting the country as a destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions. The pavilion featured representatives from Aitken Spence Travels, Blackpool Resort & Spa, Ceylon Experiences, Cinnamon Hotel Management, Esna Holidays Sri Lanka, Radisson Blu Galadari Colombo, Serene Travels & Tours, World of Travel, SriLankan Airlines,
and Walkers Tours alongside the bureau.
Another pavilion, organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, focused on leisure travel with an emphasis on wellness and Ayurveda services. Participants included Jetwing Travels, Siddhalepa Ayurveda Health Resort, Chamo Tours and Travels, Pegasus Reef Hotel, Karusan Travels, Magical Isle Holidays, and Sen Wellness Sanctuary.
The two pavilions allowed Sri Lankan travel and hospitality businesses to present their offerings to international travel trade professionals and pursue partnerships within Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region, according to the Sri Lankan High Commission.
Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Senarath Dissanayake, officially opened both pavilions.
The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau delegation, led by Chairman Dheera Hettiarachchi and including Marketing Manager Malkanthi Welikala, represented the business events sector. The Tourism Promotion Bureau delegation was led by Assistant Director Nithini Senanayake, with support from Bhagya Abeykoon, Minister Counsellor for Commercial Affairs at the Sri Lankan High Commission.
ITB Asia 2026, which marked the 19th edition of the event, combined several segments including MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia to convene travel businesses and buyers across various market sectors. The event supported Sri Lanka’s strategy to showcase its potential for business meetings, leisure tourism, and wellness travel
involving Ayurveda.
The dual pavilion presence enabled Sri Lankan companies to broaden their reach, presenting specialized travel services across business and leisure categories, and expanding wellness tourism exposure to international markets at a significant regional trade event.
