A sinkhole has emerged at LaGuardia Airport in New York, resulting in the closure of one of its runways. This closure has disrupted airport operations and created challenges for both airlines and passengers navigating the affected area.

Following the runway shutdown, multiple flights experienced delays and cancellations. Major carriers including Delta Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, and JetBlue reported extensive flight cancellations. The resulting disruption also caused congestion at nearby airports JFK and Newark as they received additional diverted or delayed traffic. Many travelers were affected, with some flights grounded or rerouted amid the ongoing situation.
