EXPO 2027 Belgrade Overview
EXPO 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15 May to 15
August 2027 and is the first Specialised Expo in the Western Balkans. Its theme is “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All” and it will feature more than 140 international participants, focusing on sport and music as key elements.
Economic and Business Relations Between Slovenia and Serbia
According to Serbia’s Statistical Office, bilateral goods trade between Slovenia and Serbia was approximately USD 2.04 billion in 2025. Over 1,200 Slovenian companies operate in Serbia, employing around 25,000 people, reflecting substantial business integration between the two countries.
Expo Goals and Business Discussions
Danilo Jerinić stated, “Expo’s success will be measured by more than what happens during those three months. It will be measured by
what remains afterwards: business connections that lead to contracts, investments that create jobs, visitors who return and ideas that grow into long-term projects.” The networking event was organised to explore opportunities for cross-border cooperation in trade and tourism ahead of EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
Business and Tourism Cooperation
The B2B discussions at the Ljubljana event explored cross-border itineraries and travel packages aimed at promoting Slovenian business tourism and Serbia tourism expo collaboration. The event supports the Slovenian Tourist Board and Slovenia’s Chamber of Craft and Small Business in fostering regional trade and tourism partnerships.
