Delta is extending its 2027 European travel season with several routes starting earlier in spring and continuing later into fall and winter. Service from Minneapolis-St. Paul and Detroit to Rome commences in early March, followed by Seattle to Rome in April. Flights from New York-JFK to Catania, Porto, Prague, and Copenhagen will resume earlier in the season. Detroit-Rome and New York-JFK-Copenhagen are planned for daily operations upon resumption, with Cincinnati-Paris continuing three times weekly

Boston serves as Delta’s closest U.S. hub to Europe and continues expanding as a gateway to the continent. The airline offers 16 international destinations from Boston, with Reykjavík becoming its 14th unique long-haul summer destination from the city. Boston will also become Delta’s third U.S. gateway to Venice, providing connections to nearly 20 U.S. cities. Service frequency from Boston to Milan will increase to daily in 2027.
Jeff Arinder, Delta’s Vice President of International Network Planning, said, “By adding new European destinations from Detroit and Boston, establishing Austin as a new gateway to Europe and extending service on
several popular routes, we’re giving customers more choice, greater flexibility and more opportunities to travel when and how they want.” Sharon Williams, Executive Director of Aviation at Massport, stated, “Italy continues to be an incredibly popular destination for New England travelers, and we are excited to add Venice to our growing list of international destinations. We’re grateful to Delta for continuing to invest in Boston and expand choices for our passengers.” Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton added, “For the first time at DTW, travelers in Southeast Michigan will have nonstop access to Athens, one of the world’s most
iconic destinations. We appreciate Delta Air Lines’ continued investment in Detroit and are excited about the new opportunities this service will create for tourism, business and cultural connections.”
Delta first introduced nonstop service to Iceland in June 2011 from New York-JFK to Reykjavík, becoming the first U.S. carrier to operate scheduled nonstop flights to Iceland. The new Boston route revives and expands that legacy, offering New England travelers more convenient transatlantic options. Delta’s partnerships with Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and other carriers provide customers with access to hundreds of destinations across Europe.
Details such as exact flight schedules, pricing,
and specific aircraft configurations beyond general cabin classes for these new routes have not been released.
