Banff’s Rimrock Hotel completed a $115 million renovation, reopening as Rimrock Banff, Emblems Collection, marking Accor’s first Emblems Collection property in North America. The transformation was unveiled at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 5, 2026.

Redesign of Guest Rooms and Facilities

The renovation included redesigning 320 guest rooms with an emphasis on natural light and mountain views. Studio Collective, a California-based design firm, led the redesign, incorporating floor-to-ceiling windows, natural materials, and landscape-inspired contemporary artwork. The property now features 57 suites, including an infinity two-bedroom suite with a more than 1,260-square-foot wraparound terrace equipped with a barrel sauna and fire table. The resort includes over 18,000

square feet of meeting and event spaces distributed across 11 venues.

New Wellness Facilities

The resort added a 9,600-square-foot hydrothermal bathhouse, described as Banff’s first luxury hydrothermal wellness facility. It offers indoor and outdoor thermal amenities such as vitality and hot pools, a mountain-facing infinity pool, saunas, an aromatic steam room, cold plunges, and dedicated sensory and meditation rooms. Adjacent is a 3,800-square-foot Movement Center featuring fitness equipment, climbing and bouldering walls, guided fitness classes, and recovery services.

Dining Venues and Culinary Focus

Four dining venues were introduced or refreshed. Parker’s Table serves seasonal northern Canadian-inspired cuisine using ingredients sourced from local farmers, fishers, and foragers. Rimrock Social

acts as a social hub offering coffee, food, and cocktails. The Listening Room provides an intimate atmosphere for wine, spirits, and vinyl music. Rimrock Market offers specialty coffee and casual mountain-themed dining. The resort integrates Alberta-produced honey in select beverages, including a signature arrival drink and wellness tonics.

Outdoor Activities and Expeditions Centre

Rimrock Banff offers more than 50 seasonal outdoor activities, including guided hikes, forest bathing, alpine yoga, canyon ice walks, Indigenous cultural experiences, expeditions to Athabasca Glacier, and northern lights wake-up calls when conditions allow. The dedicated Expeditions Centre, led by the resort’s master pathfinder, creates customized outdoor itineraries for guests.

Official Opening and Statements

The resort’s

grand opening occurred on October 5, 2026. David Garcelon, general manager of Rimrock Banff, said, “The resort, across the decades of its history, has always been defined by its remarkable setting.” He added, “This transformation was guided by a simple philosophy: create a resort that feels inseparable from the landscape itself.”
