A significant sinkhole has emerged at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, resulting in the closure of runway 4/22. The affected runway remains closed as authorities assess and address the damage caused by the ground collapse.

This closure has led to extensive disruptions, including numerous flight delays and cancellations. Major carriers such as Delta, American, United, and JetBlue have been impacted, canceling a substantial number of flights as a direct consequence of the runway shutdown.

Travelers at LaGuardia and the surrounding airports, including JFK and Newark, are experiencing considerable scheduling interruptions. The additional strain on nearby facilities has resulted in backup and

further delays, particularly as the region approaches a busy travel period. Passengers are advised to anticipate ongoing delays and cancellations until the affected runway is reopened and operations return to normal.
