Accor Launches First Emblems Collection Hotel in North America

Accor has inaugurated its first Emblems Collection property in North America with the opening of the Rimrock Banff Emblems Collection hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada, the company announced on October 7, 2026.

This marks the second hotel to launch under the Emblems Collection brand globally. The inaugural property, Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa in England, commenced operations in November 2025, establishing Accor’s premium boutique brand presence in Europe before expanding to North America.

U.S. Hotel Market RevPAR Trends

Industry data for the week ending October 3, 2026, shows U.S. hotel revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased 12.9% year-over-year to $116, according to STR/CoStar reports. Average

daily rate rose 7.0% and occupancy climbed 5.5%. The luxury segment recorded the highest RevPAR growth at 21.5%, while economy hotels grew by 4.6%.

Top U.S. markets leading RevPAR gains included Miami and San Francisco, both up 43%, and New Orleans, which grew 37%. Las Vegas was the only major market among the top 25 to report a decline, with an 18% drop. Full-month September RevPAR growth stood at 11.2%.

Hotel Owner Sentiment and Market Conditions

The IHG Owners Association introduced the Owner Confidence Index in September 2026 to gauge hotel owner sentiment regarding revenue, profitability, and development. The initial score was 45.2, below the neutral

threshold of 50, reflecting concerns over rising operating expenses.

Current feedback from owners highlights economic uncertainty and softer demand impacting profits, with 53% citing weaker demand, 45% noting increased costs, and 15% identifying fuel and gas price rises as challenges despite projections of future revenue and GOPPAR growth by industry analysts.
