Victoria line services were partially suspended between Brixton and Victoria stations on Monday, October 5, 2026, due to a signal fault at Brixton station in south London. Transport for London (TfL) reported severe delays across the Victoria line while the fault is being addressed.
Disruption on London Northwestern Railway Due to Train Fault
A train fault between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey resulted in the closure of some railway lines, causing ongoing disruption on the London Northwestern Railway. National Rail indicated that the disruption was expected to continue through much of the morning on October 5.
Minor Delays on Multiple London Underground Lines
Additional delays affected London Underground services across several lines on October 5.
The Lioness line experienced minor delays following a customer incident at Stonebridge Park. The District line saw minor delays between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon due to a faulty train at Parson’s Green, as stated by TfL.
The Central line returned to good service after earlier disruptions caused by train cancellations. The Piccadilly line experienced minor delays between Acton Town and Heathrow Airport, linked to a track inspection and an ill passenger aboard a train at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3.
On the Great Western Railway, a speed restriction between West Ealing and Greenford led to a reduced service along that
segment.
Tram Line Partial Closures for Planned Engineering Works
Tram lines faced partial closures until Wednesday, October 7, 2026, due to planned engineering works. TfL confirmed there is no eastbound tram service between Wandle Park and Centrale and no westbound service between Church Street and Wandle Park during this period.
Passengers on affected routes should expect no Victoria line train service between Brixton and Victoria stations and anticipate severe delays on this line while the signal fault at Brixton remains unresolved. Train services on London Northwestern Railway are disrupted through much of the morning, and reduced service is operating on the Great Western Railway between West Ealing and
Greenford due to speed restrictions.
Minor delays remain on the District, Central, Piccadilly, and Lioness lines affecting commuters across London.
