The Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2026 took place from April 9 to 12 at the International Center for Exhibition (ICE) in Hanoi, hosting nearly 400 booths featuring over 600 organizations and enterprises. Participants represented 31 provinces and cities in Vietnam plus 20 countries and territories, with 15 percent of exhibitors from overseas. The event carried the theme “Digital transformation and green growth – Elevating Vietnam’s tourism.”

Senior Travellers Comprise 40% of Fair Customers

Senior travellers between 60 and 75 years old accounted for around 40 percent of Saigontourist Hanoi’s customers at the fair. Nguyen Hoai Thu, Saigontourist Hanoi’s Director, said this group was among the fastest

to decide on bookings. Tran Quang Binh, 82, from Hanoi, booked a seven-day, six-night tour for four to Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou costing VND92 million (~US$3,760). He attends the fair annually, attracted by ongoing promotions.

Other senior visitors included 77-year-old Tran Van Khoat, who is weighing options for domestic travel to Quang Tri and an overseas trip to South Korea, and 87-year-old Nguyen Van Khanh, who has visited over 30 countries and is interested in tours to China and Russia. Khanh noted he prefers booking tours in-person at fairs rather than online.
