Uttar Pradesh Tourism took part in Tourism Expo Japan 2026 from September 24 to 27 at Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan, featuring a dedicated pavilion. The stall was inaugurated by Indian officials including Indian Ambassador to Japan Nagma Mohamed Mallick, Suman Billa, Additional Secretary and Director General of India’s Ministry of Tourism, Deputy Director General Dr. R. K. Suman, and Udita Gaurav, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Tokyo. The pavilion included four co-exhibitors and showcased Uttar Pradesh’s cultural and spiritual heritage over four days.
Promotion of Buddhist Circuit and Tourism Offerings
Uttar Pradesh Tourism emphasized its Buddhist Circuit and spiritual heritage, aiming to attract
global travelers to these destinations. The pavilion also promoted pilgrimage circuits, cultural traditions, local cuisine and crafts, eco-tourism, and heritage tourism experiences aligned with the event’s theme, “The Changing Nature of Travel.” The Tourism Expo combined a one-day conference with a two-day business-to-business travel mart, enabling multiple networking sessions. The delegation engaged with Japanese travel trade professionals to foster partnerships aimed at cultural understanding and tourism growth.

Jaiveer Singh, the Hon’ble Minister of Tourism and Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, stated the state is redefining global tourism through its unmatched cultural and spiritual heritage. He noted that the participation in
Tourism Expo Japan 2026 strengthened international connections and unlocked new collaborations. Singh invited travelers worldwide to explore the “divine energy” of the Buddhist Circuit and Spiritual Triangle, affirming that Uttar Pradesh is prepared to welcome visitors with extensive opportunities.
Key Destinations and Accessibility
Uttar Pradesh is home to major spiritual and cultural destinations including Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan, Varanasi, Agra, Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Kannauj. The state also hosts large-scale events such as Dev Deepawali, Mahakumbh, Rangotsav, and Taj Utsav. International visitors can access the state through international airports in Delhi and Lucknow. leading global destination through enhanced international tourism collaboration.
