A parliamentary delegation from Jordan’s Lower House Tourism and Antiquities Committee took part in the IFTM Top Resa travel trade show in Paris, France, from September 15 to 17, 2026. The event gathered over 32,000 tourism professionals, representing more than 177 destinations and 1,650 brands, with 16,725 business meetings scheduled.
Delegation Composition and Objectives
The delegation was led by MP Salem Omari and included Yousef Rawadiyeh, Nabil Shishani, Najma Hawawsheh, Jamal Qamoh, and Hammoud Zawahreh. The delegation engaged Jordanian tourism businesses and professional organizations participating in the exhibition to explore new markets and respond to global shifts in travel demand, destination management, and tourism
technology.
Exploration of Tourism Markets and Technologies
Focusing on broadening Jordan’s presence overseas, the delegation met with tour operators, travel agencies, and other industry players. They studied international destination-marketing practices and tourism technologies showcased at one of France’s leading travel industry trade shows to identify opportunities for expanding Jordan’s tourism footprint.
Jordan’s Tourism Strategy and Sector Competitiveness
MP Salem Omari highlighted the need to diversify source markets and promote Jordan’s archaeological, religious, natural, medical, and adventure tourism offerings in a more integrated way to strengthen competitiveness. He emphasized linking destinations through broader itineraries to encourage longer visitor stays and spending while distributing economic benefits to a wider range of local communities.

Top Resa brings together travel agencies, tour operators, transport and accommodation companies, tourism destinations, authorities, technology firms, and specialized media. The Lower House Tourism and Antiquities Committee considers its participation part of its broader role in oversight and engagement to improve coordination between government institutions, Parliament, and the private sector and enhance tourism’s contribution to economic growth and local development.
