A parliamentary delegation from Jordan’s Lower House Tourism and Antiquities Committee is participating in the IFTM Top Resa travel trade show in Paris from September 15 to 17, 2026. Headed by MP Salem Omari, the delegation is among over 32,000 tourism professionals attending the event. The exhibition features 177 destinations and 1,650 brands, with 16,725 scheduled business meetings taking place during the show.
Delegation Objectives and Market Exploration
The Jordanian delegation is examining trends in global travel demand, destination management, and tourism technology as part of its program at IFTM Top Resa. It is engaging directly with tour operators and companies to identify opportunities for
expanding Jordan’s tourism footprint internationally. The delegation focuses on integrating Jordan’s archaeological, religious, natural, medical, and adventure tourism offerings to appeal to diverse markets.
They are advocating for the development of broader tourism itineraries that link multiple destinations within the country. This approach aims to increase visitor stay duration and distribute economic benefits more widely across local communities. Members of the delegation are also meeting Jordanian tourism businesses and professional groups present at the exhibition to assess challenges hindering their access to overseas markets.
Official Calls for Coordination and Sector Support
MP Salem Omari has indicated the committee’s intention to follow up on issues faced by tourism
operators with concerned government bodies. The delegation emphasizes strengthening cooperation among government institutions, parliament, and private sector stakeholders to enhance tourism’s contribution to Jordan’s economy, including employment and local development.
Alongside Omari, delegation members Yousef Rawadiyeh, Nabil Shishani, Najma Hawawsheh, Jamal Qamoh, and Hammoud Zawahreh support efforts to diversify source markets, increase international promotional activities, and implement ongoing improvements in services and infrastructure at tourist and archaeological sites.
