Delta Air Lines announced the launch of three new domestic routes, including twice-daily service from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Monterey starting December 19, 2026. The Los Angeles to Monterey flights will be operated by Delta Connection using Embraer E175 aircraft. On the same date, daily flights between Salt Lake City International Airport and Monterey will also begin. Additionally, Delta will launch daily mainline service between Los Angeles and Philadelphia Airport on June 7, 2027, operating throughout the summer travel season with Airbus A321neos.

Delta is increasing frequencies on several existing routes from Los Angeles. Flights to Boston will

expand to five times daily, Raleigh-Durham flights will double to twice daily, San Diego service will increase to five times daily, Seattle flights will rise to eight times daily, Houston schedule will reach three daily flights, Cincinnati connections will be twice daily, and San Antonio flights will increase to three times daily.

Delta Network Expansion Focus

Amy Martin, vice president of network planning at Delta, said the additions reflect the airline’s strategy to create more connection opportunities and reinforce its commitment to Los Angeles and California. She stated, “We’re continuing to invest in more ways for customers to experience everything California has to offer.

With new service to Monterey from both Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, alongside our continued growth at LAX, we’re creating more opportunities for customers to connect to the places they want to go while building on our long-term commitment to Los Angeles and the West.”

Delta last operated flights to Monterey in 2008 before this relaunch. The new routes and increased frequencies underline the airline’s ongoing growth in key U.S. markets and its focus on expanding service from its Los Angeles hub.

The expansion offers travelers more options and greater scheduling flexibility, particularly out of Los Angeles, providing enhanced

access to Monterey, Philadelphia, and several other popular domestic destinations.
