IndiGo will begin operating daily direct flights between Mumbai Airport in India and Dar es Salaam Airport in Tanzania starting November 20, 2026. Flights will depart Mumbai at 2:20 am local time and arrive in Dar es Salaam at 6:05 am. The return flight will leave Dar es Salaam at 7:05 am and land in Mumbai at 3:55 pm, subject to regulatory approval.
This new service makes IndiGo the sole Indian carrier offering nonstop connectivity on the Mumbai-Dar es Salaam route. IndiGo already operates direct flights from India to Nairobi, Mauritius, and Seychelles, expanding its footprint in East Africa.
The
launch follows growing economic and trade ties between India and Tanzania. India ranks among Tanzania’s largest trading partners, and improved air links are expected to enhance business travel, trade, investment, tourism, and educational exchanges between the two countries and the broader East African region.
Aloke Singh, IndiGo’s Chief Strategy Officer, highlighted the strategic aim of building stronger connections between India and fast-growing markets like Tanzania. The demand for these flights is driven by increasing trade, investment, tourism, and cultural relationships between India and Tanzania, positioning Dar es Salaam as a vital gateway to East Africa.
