
The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Tourism has formed a strategic partnership with WTM Spotlight Riyadh for the first edition of the travel industry event scheduled from September 8 to 10, 2026, at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center (RFECC).
Tourism Sector Expansion and Event Scope
The partnership aims to strengthen international cooperation and attract investment to Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector, which is a priority under the country’s Vision 2030 economic diversification strategy. Saudi Arabia targets tourism to contribute 10% of its GDP and to welcome 150 million domestic and international visitors annually by 2030. WTM Spotlight Riyadh will assemble tourism authorities, destinations, hospitality firms, airlines,
travel technology companies, investors, buyers, and industry leaders to explore business opportunities within the Kingdom.

Danielle Curtis, regional portfolio director for the UAE at RX, the event organizer, described the partnership as a pivotal moment reflecting Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to expand global tourism influence. She stated, “Our strategic partnership with the Ministry of Tourism is a defining moment for the inaugural WTM Spotlight Riyadh and reflects the Kingdom’s ambition to play an even greater role in shaping the future of global tourism.” Curtis added that the event is designed to establish significant business connections, facilitate idea exchange, and provide international
travel professionals direct access to one of the world’s rapidly growing tourism markets.
Saudi Vision 2030 and Tourism Development
The collaboration supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan to diversify its economy by developing its tourism infrastructure and attracting global investment. Recent ministry data show ongoing increases in visitor numbers and tourism expenditures, underlining the sector’s growing importance to the national economy.
Expo 2030 Riyadh and Atout France MoU
Additionally, organizers of Expo 2030 Riyadh have signed a memorandum of understanding with Atout France to boost tourism cooperation and promote the Expo 2030 event internationally. Specific activities under this agreement have not been disclosed.
