TrainTracker24, a live map tracking railway traffic across France, Spain, and Belgium, was launched in August 2026. The platform provides real-time data on active trains, average delays, on-time performance, and cancellations with an interactive map that users can rotate and zoom.
Map Filters and Search Functions
Users can filter trains by operator including Eurostar and Italy’s Frecciarossa service. The map also allows filtering based on infrastructure criteria like stations without rail service, high-speed lines, and operational stations closed to the public. Live widgets rank the most delayed trains and most disrupted stations. There are search options for train numbers, past journeys, departures, arrivals, punctuality, and
station facilities in France, Germany, Spain, and Belgium. Rail operators’ route networks and performance statistics are also accessible.
Live Data Snapshots and Update Frequency
At the time of reporting, SNCF operated 601 trains in France, with 80 delayed by 15 minutes or more and 22 cancelled. The platform refreshes this network status every 20 seconds, allowing users to monitor live train disruptions as they occur.
Free and Paid Features with Open Data Sources
Basic use of TrainTracker24 is free, while paid features offer personalized journey maps, detailed live data on service interruptions, sorting trains by delay, enhanced map details on infrastructure and track types, and expert analysis. The platform’s data derives entirely from open
sources provided by operators, regional authorities, and infrastructure managers, including timetables, real-time updates, and disruption notices.
Expansion Plans and Industry Context
TrainTracker24 plans further European expansion beyond its initial focus on France, Spain, and Belgium. It joins existing train tracking systems such as TrainTracker.live, which covers almost 11,000 live trains across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania, and TrainsTracking, providing live info and fare comparisons in 76 countries. The UK-specific SignalBox platform tracks rail networks exclusively within the United Kingdom. TrainTracker24 founder Elric Battello highlighted the lack of live train tracking compared to aviation and shipping, noting passengers typically rely only on station displays or
delay notifications rather than real-time information.
“When you’re flying, or waiting for someone at the airport, it’s easy to open Flightradar24 to track the flight live on a map; the same goes for shipping. With trains, it’s different. You’ll often see a display at the station or receive a notification in the event of a delay. But you don’t really know what’s going on,” Battello said.
