Royal Caribbean has canceled multiple U.S. sailings scheduled for its 2027 season, impacting trips on Navigator of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas as the cruise line reallocates vessels to the Asia-Pacific market.

Navigator of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas Redeployments

The Navigator of the Seas will relocate to Asia for year-round operations from October 2026 through October 2027. It will feature two- to five-night cruises around Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand, along with a 12-night voyage between Tokyo and Singapore. These itineraries have recently opened for booking.

Concurrently, Ovation of the Seas will reposition to Australia for the 2027-28 season, commencing sailings from Brisbane

in November 2027. Its itineraries will range from four-night trips to Airlie Beach in Queensland’s Whitsunday region to voyages of three to eight nights throughout Australia and nearby areas.

Freedom of the Seas Redeployment and Previous Cancellations

Earlier in 2023, Royal Caribbean canceled over 20 cruises aboard Freedom of the Seas for summer 2027. This followed the decision to redeploy the ship to Southampton, England, marking another strategic fleet adjustment for the upcoming season.

Official Statements on Itinerary Changes

A Royal Caribbean spokesperson confirmed that itinerary changes are part of dynamic deployment planning, regularly reviewed based on demand, capacity needs, and operational factors. The company said, “Royal Caribbean is committed to providing the

best vacation experiences. This process includes making updates to itineraries, as necessary, to accommodate scheduling, port agreements, and other operational considerations.” The spokesperson also stated, “As part of this process, we’ve made the decision to redeploy Freedom of the Seas to Southampton in 2027. Guests and travel partners are being contacted directly with details about their sailings and available options.”

Passenger Communication and Options

Royal Caribbean has contacted all passengers and travel partners affected by the cancellations directly. Travelers with impacted bookings are offered alternatives including switching to other Royal Caribbean ships or sailings, or receiving full refunds including prepaid add-ons if suitable options

are unavailable.
