The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued and later lifted a ground stop at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus, Michigan, on Saturday, August 22, 2026. In Plymouth, Michigan, a utility pole fire at the intersection of Ann Arbor and Lilley roads forced closure of the roads. City officials advised motorists to use alternate routes. Video footage showed a transformer explosion associated with the storm at that location.
