Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. announced on August 19, 2026, the upcoming debut of Norwegian Aura, its largest ship to date and a new advancement in the Prima Plus Class, with an emphasis on expanded wellness and dining amenities. The ship’s Thermal Suite is the industry’s most comprehensive, offering 15 distinct wellness experiences designed around contrast therapy, including 11 new features focused on relaxation and recovery. This spa complex spans two decks and was designed by the Rockwell Group.
New Indian Specialty Restaurant and Immersive Dining
Norwegian Aura will introduce Tamara, the line’s first specialty restaurant solely dedicated to Indian cuisine, located on Deck 8. The venue
serves authentic regional dishes inspired by North Indian temples and courtyards, featuring items such as Short-Rib Dosa and Lamb Biryani. Complementing this is The Panorama Room on Deck 6, a complimentary dining space utilizing LED screens and synchronized audio to deliver an immersive dining atmosphere. Overall, the ship offers 22 food and beverage venues showcasing more than ten international cuisines.
Expanded Spa Features and Wellness Amenities
The Mandara Spa includes 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, a Skin Lab, and expanded medi-spa services like IV therapy and NAD+ injections. The Thermal Suite highlights signature elements such as the Sensory Rain Pool—offering a 360-degree immersive water experience
that simulates rain and thunderstorms—the Blue Glow Suite, Foot Spa, Waterfall Experience, Snow Cave, Reflection Pool, and guided Hot and Cold Plunges. Additional spaces provide salt rooms, steam and charcoal saunas, and meditation lounges. A state-of-the-art fitness center with training studios supports comprehensive wellness programming.
Diverse Culinary Venues and Redesigned Bars
In addition to Tamara and The Panorama Room, Norwegian Aura’s dining roster includes Le Bistro (French) and Sukhothai (Thai) on Deck 7, Palomar (Mediterranean) and Onda by Scarpetta (Italian) on Deck 8, as well as Cagney’s Steakhouse, Hasuki for hibachi, and Nama offering sushi. The newly expanded Surfside Café and Indulge Food Hall—with nine global
stations—complement these venues. Bars and lounges have been refreshed and expanded, featuring Penrose Bar & Atrium with over double the seating capacity and a dedicated entertainment stage, Metropolitan Bar with sustainable cocktails, Swirl Wine Bar, Belvedere Bar, Whiskey Bar, and Daybreak Bar on Deck 18 overlooking the pool.
Public Spaces Revamped and Family Activity Hub
Norwegian Aura’s public areas have been reconfigured for greater guest comfort and smoother flow throughout the ship. The Ocean Heights activity zone integrates six slides, an 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, a multi-level Moon Climber obstacle course, nine-hole mini golf, and carnival-style Aura Midway games. The zone also features the first overhanging cabanas
with a dedicated bar overlooking Vibe Beach Club, designed to offer combined family fun and adult relaxation.
Exclusive Haven Complex Upgrades
The Haven luxury enclave includes a redesigned private bar, lounge, and restaurant designed by Studio DADO. The spaces incorporate natural earth tones and canopy features intended to create a tranquil environment for guests with exclusive access.
Voyage Schedule and Routes
Norwegian Aura’s maiden voyage is scheduled for May 21, 2027, on a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from Trieste, Italy to Barcelona, Spain. Following this, the ship will undertake a 13-day transatlantic voyage to Miami, Florida. During the summers of 2027 and 2028, Norwegian Aura will operate seven-day cruises
through the Eastern Caribbean, including stops at Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
