On August 13, 2026, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and RJR Investments & Holdings Inc. announced that Atlantic Suites Hotel has joined the Hyatt portfolio as an affiliated hotel, marking Hyatt’s first presence in Guyana. The agreement includes plans to integrate Atlantic Suites with a new adjoining tower by 2028, creating Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana through a $50 million development project.

Hotel Location and Economic Context

Atlantic Suites Hotel is located in Georgetown, the capital and commercial hub of Guyana. The hotel sits approximately six miles from Eugene F. Correia International Airport. Guyana is experiencing rapid economic growth and international interest, driving increased demand for business and

leisure travel in the region. This expansion fits Hyatt’s strategy to extend its footprint across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Current Hotel Facilities and Nearby Amenities

Designed for business and extended-stay guests, Atlantic Suites Hotel currently offers 80 guestrooms and suites. The rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows with views overlooking either the Atlantic Ocean or the Georgetown skyline. The property also includes a 24-hour fitness center. Guests have access to additional facilities at the neighboring Pegasus Hotel and Pegasus Corporate Business Center, both owned by RJR Investments. The Pegasus Corporate Business Center provides about 36,000 square feet of meeting and event space, while Pegasus Hotel offers six

dining venues, including Aura Sky Lounge with panoramic city views and an outdoor pool.

$50 Million Development and Hyatt Regency Expansion

The $50 million project will add a new tower adjoining Atlantic Suites Hotel, connected by a pedestrian bridge, to form the Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana. Upon completion in 2028, the expanded hotel will feature 240 guestrooms and suites, a signature restaurant and market, a lobby, rooftop bar, as well as enhanced meeting and event facilities. This development aims to serve a wider clientele of business, leisure, and group travelers in Georgetown.

Additional Hyatt Property and Strategy for Regional Growth

Hyatt Place Georgetown Guyana, a separate property with 136 guestrooms, a rooftop bar, outdoor pool,

and complimentary breakfast, is also expected to join Hyatt’s portfolio later in 2026. Hyatt’s expansion into Guyana and broader Latin America and Caribbean markets targets emerging economies without existing Hyatt hotels. Cristiano Gonçalves, Hyatt’s Vice President of Development for South America & the Caribbean, described the Guyana debut as an exciting milestone aligned with economic expansion and rising travel demand. Robert Badal, CEO of RJR Investments & Holdings Inc., cited Guyana’s rapid growth as the ideal timing to introduce the Hyatt brand and build on the Pegasus Hotel’s legacy.

Loyalty Program Integration

Following the completion and rebranding in 2028, Atlantic Suites Hotel will

join Hyatt’s World of Hyatt loyalty program. Members will be able to earn and redeem points for stays, dining, and wellbeing experiences at the property. This integration will broaden Hyatt’s loyalty offerings in Guyana and provide added value to travelers visiting Georgetown.
