Vietjet announced it will begin operating twice-weekly flights from Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) to Ho Chi Minh City starting January 2027. From March 2027, the airline will increase this service to three weekly flights. These routes will be operated using Airbus A330 aircraft with a seating capacity of up to 377 passengers.
Vietjet Thailand to Add WSI-Bangkok Route
Vietjet’s sister airline, Vietjet Thailand, plans to introduce four weekly flights between Western Sydney and Bangkok from November 2027, pending regulatory approval. This will mark Vietjet Thailand’s inaugural services to Australia.

Federal Minister Catherine King described the announcement as “a sign of the momentum we’re seeing build at Sydney’s newest airport,” noting that terminal testing and final preparations are underway ahead of scheduled passenger operations. NSW Tourism Minister Steve Kamper emphasized the local economic benefits, highlighting excitement for tourism, businesses, and job creation as the airport prepares to open.

Passenger flights at Western Sydney International Airport are set to begin 76 days following the announcement dated August 10, 2026. Terminal testing, fit out, and finishing touches are ongoing to accommodate the incoming services. Vietjet’s Ho Chi Minh City route is supported
