A Delta spokesperson confirmed that customers impacted by the discontinuations will be contacted directly to arrange alternative travel or refunds.

Delta is launching a new nonstop flight from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) near Fort Myers. This service begins November 21, 2026, utilizing Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets. The route marks Delta’s latest expansion from one of its fastest-growing East Coast markets ahead of the Thanksgiving travel period.
Introduction of Basic Fares for Premium Cabins
In 2026, Delta introduced Basic fares for first class and business class cabins. This tier provides economy seats with select premium benefits, such as Zone 1 boarding and access to 180-degree lie-flat seats with privacy suites on specific aircraft. The
Basic fare option aims to offer passengers up to $200 savings compared to standard first-class tickets.
