Carnival Cruise Line has cancelled nine sailings aboard the Carnival Jubilee scheduled from the Port of Galveston between August and December 2027. The cancelled voyages include six- to eight-night itineraries to the Western Caribbean and Bahamas departing on August 15, August 21, August 29, September 12, September 18, September 26, November 7, December 5, and December 11, 2027.
Passengers affected by the cancellations are offered options to rebook on alternative sailings with rate protection, ensuring the same cruise fare for comparable accommodations. Carnival is additionally providing a $50 onboard credit per person, capped at $100 per stateroom, for those who
choose to rebook. Full refunds covering cruise fares and any pre-purchased items or services are available for customers opting not to rebook.
The Carnival Jubilee is an Excel-class ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), capable of carrying approximately 5,400 passengers at double occupancy. Operating year-round from Galveston, the vessel typically serves seven-night Western Caribbean cruises with calls at Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, and Roatán in Honduras. Starting September 2025, its deployment expands to include six- to eight-night Bahamas itineraries visiting Carnival’s private destinations Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay.
Carnival attributed the cancellations to revised operational plans
for the Carnival Jubilee, without specifying further details. Such changes frequently involve fleet-wide scheduling optimisation, drydock requirements, or strategic redeployment. In communications to booked guests, Carnival stated, “We have revised operational plans for the Carnival Jubilee and, unfortunately, your cruise has been cancelled,” adding, “We sincerely apologise for this change and thank you for your understanding.”
With over two years’ notice provided before the affected sailings, passengers have ample time to adjust their plans. Carnival’s rebooking team is available to assist with finding alternative cruises. Passengers are advised to review third-party bookings such as flights or hotels independently, as cancellations
only cover cruise-related expenses.
