ITB Berlin will take place from March 16 to March 18, 2027, with a revised exhibition hall layout to accommodate the construction of dock9 at Messe Berlin. Hall 9 will be demolished beginning October 2026 to make space for the new multi-purpose event venue dock9, necessitating adjustments to the trade fair’s spatial organization.
Exhibitor Relocation and CityCube Berlin’s Expanded Role
Exhibitors currently housed in Halls 7.1c, 8.1, 9, and 10.1 will be relocated to CityCube Berlin for ITB Berlin 2027. Traditionally a conference center, CityCube will expand its function to include exhibition space, offering increased capacity and upgraded technical infrastructure. The venue features dedicated entrances, a separate
taxi drop-off zone, and direct access from Messe Süd S-Bahn station to integrate visitor flows effectively across the Messe Berlin grounds.
Objectives Behind the Layout Changes
The hall layout revisions aim to enhance visitor circulation, concentrate related tourism sectors for better thematic grouping, and simplify navigation for both exhibitors and trade visitors. According to Deborah Rothe, Director of ITB Berlin, “The adapted hall layout is more than just a response to the construction of dock9. It gives us the opportunity to align ITB Berlin even more closely with the requirements of our international exhibitors and trade visitors and make thematic focal points more visible.” The
adjustments are targeted reshuffles rather than a complete redesign, focused on creating more efficient exhibition zones and encouraging interactions between businesses operating in similar segments.
Support for Exhibitors and Visitors
ITB Berlin is actively collaborating with affected exhibitors to facilitate their relocation and to develop suitable stand placements for the 2027 event. The final exhibition space allocation will be completed later in 2026. Ramona Zaun, Head of Sales & Administration at ITB Berlin, said, “It was important for us to involve the partners concerned in a timely manner and to develop viable solutions together.” To assist with venue navigation, updated hall maps, enhanced signage across
the grounds, and ITB app updates will be provided to both exhibitors and visitors.
