Syria recorded 3.52 million tourist arrivals in the first six months of 2026, a 111% increase compared to 1.67 million visitors during the same period in 2025, according to the Statistics Authority at Syria’s Ministry of Tourism.
Significant Growth in Arrivals from Arab and Non-Arab Countries
Tourists from non-Arab countries visiting Syria rose by 448% year over year, while arrivals from Arab countries increased by 107%, the statistics agency reported. These figures reflect a broad increase in inbound travel to the country.
Rising Confidence and Demand Drive Tourism Recovery
Officials from Syria’s Ministry of Tourism said the expansion in tourist numbers demonstrates growing confidence in Syria as a travel destination and heightened regional and international demand
for visits. The data underscores a notable rebound in Syria’s tourism sector.
The tourism statistics were issued by Syrian authorities but have not been verified independently.
