Tourist arrivals in Cyprus totaled 489,965 in June 2026, a decrease of 1.7% compared to 498,527 in June 2025, while the total for January to June 2026 reached 1,656,015, down 10.1% from 1,843,013 in the same period of 2025, according to data from the Cyprus Statistical Service (CySTAT). Compared to 2024, arrivals increased by 1.6% in June and 1.65% for the first half of the year, nearly matching pre-pandemic levels.
Israeli Tourist Arrivals More Than Double in June 2026
Arrivals from Israel surged in June 2026, reaching 80,343 visitors, more than doubling from 30,246 in June 2025. This marked a 165.7% growth compared to the previous year and a
49.8% increase over May 2026 arrivals of 53,649. Despite an 8.6% decline in Israeli arrivals to Cyprus in the first half of 2026 (192,037 visitors) compared to 210,220 in the same period of 2025, the sharp rise in June helped contain losses amid Middle East region challenges.
United Kingdom Remains Main Market Despite Decline; Poland and Germany Trends
The United Kingdom stayed Cyprus’s largest source market with 539,415 arrivals in January-June 2026, down 13.8% from 626,004 in the same period of 2025. Poland recorded a 4.8% increase with 165,731 arrivals versus 158,208 previously. Germany ranked as the fourth largest market reporting 106,537 visitors, a 6.9% drop from 114,485 in the prior
year.
Arrivals from Greece decreased by 7.5%, totaling 78,811 tourists in the first half of 2026 compared to 85,224 in 2025. Sweden also showed a small decline of about 3%, with 64,391 arrivals down from 66,394 the previous year.
Other Market Contributions and Arrival Diversity
Additional important source countries for Cyprus tourism in the first half of 2026 included Romania with 35,418 arrivals, Austria with 28,519, Hungary with 23,494, and France with 22,970. Tourists arrived from 21 other countries during this period, while 13 countries recorded no arrivals.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis stated that the June 2026 figures confirm Cyprus tourism “has returned to
a stable trajectory, as the overall performance of the month is considered satisfactory under the circumstances,” reflecting a recovery approaching 2024 levels despite regional challenges.
