ITB Asia 2026 will host the Business Traveller Global & Regional Awards ceremony on 21 October 2026 at the Begonia Main Ballroom in the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore. The awards recognise excellence in the airline, hospitality, destination, and travel services sectors. This marks the first time the Business Traveller Global Awards will take place in Singapore, underlining the significance of the event within the Asia-Pacific travel industry.
Strategic Partnership Between ITB Asia and Business Traveller
The awards ceremony is the result of a strategic collaboration between ITB Asia, Asia-Pacific’s leading travel trade platform, and Business Traveller, known for its respected global and regional awards programmes. This
partnership integrates one of the travel industry’s longest-standing awards into the official ITB Asia event schedule. It aims to strengthen engagement among airlines, hospitality providers, destinations, travel technology firms, and corporate travel sectors during the 2026 event.
Statements from Event Leaders
Denise Jaschke, Managing Director APAC of Business Traveller, highlighted the partnership coincides with Business Traveller’s 50th anniversary and the region’s growing role as a hub for aviation, tourism, and business travel. Jaschke said, “As Business Traveller celebrates 50 years of serving the world’s most frequent travellers, we are delighted to deepen our partnership with ITB Asia. Following the success of bringing the Asia-Pacific
Awards to Singapore last year, it is a natural next step to host the Business Traveller Global Awards in Singapore for the very first time.”
Darren Seah, Executive Director of Messe Berlin Asia Pacific, which organises ITB Asia, described the collaboration as a milestone reinforcing ITB Asia’s commitment to corporate travel. Seah stated, “This partnership marks an exciting milestone for ITB Asia and reflects our continued commitment to strengthening the corporate travel segment.”
Awards Legacy and Voting Process
The Business Traveller Global & Regional Awards have benchmarked industry excellence for over 40 years. Selection is based on votes by Business Traveller’s international readership of frequent
travellers and vetting by a panel of global travel experts. The awards celebrate outstanding performance across airlines, hospitality, destinations, and travel services worldwide. Incorporating the awards into ITB Asia strengthens the event’s value for exhibitors, buyers, and visitors by broadening industry recognition and networking opportunities.
Implications for Asia-Pacific Travel Sector
The 2026 ceremony aligns with ITB Asia’s objective to expand corporate travel engagement across the Asia-Pacific leisure, corporate, and MICE markets. Hosting the awards in Singapore capitalises on the city-state’s strategic position as a global aviation and business hub. The event will unite senior executives, buyers, and decision-makers to celebrate travel sector innovation and elevate
industry standards.
